Outside, off the dining room, is a big open deck (afternoon shaded) with gas grill, 6 chair patio set, Adirondack chairs and tables, and bench seating for extra guests. Things to do: The most beautiful beaches in R.I. are all nearby, one within walking distance. Scarboro State Beach (with full bathhouse facilities, food pavilions, boardwalk, and picnic areas) is right down the road and within walking distance. You can walk to this beach along the main road (Burnside Ave.) and access beach at the north pavilion and boardwalk, or you can take a quieter route by accessing the right of way on Greene Lane (3 streets over from Kingston Lane in the development) which takes you over to Angell Rd. and then a straight shot down to the beach and boardwalk and the south pavilion. Beach caddie is provided for your chairs and beach supplies. There is no fee to walk on to this beach, fee for parking only. Enjoy swimming, sunning, surfing, sailing, boating, boogie boarding, skim boarding, surf fishing, charter boat fishing, sail boarding, kayaking, canoeing, tennis, rollerblading, harbor tours, sightseeing cruises, sunset cruises, golfing, hiking, biking, antique hunting, or bird watching. Visit Canonchet Farm Historic Village and museum. Buy fresh lobster right off the lobster boats in the fishing village of Point Judith. Take the ferry from Point Judith to Block Island for a fun day trip that can include shopping and restaurants, biking around the island, renting mopeds and exploring lighthouses, horseback riding, hiking in the glades, or just relaxing at the beautiful beaches with their crystal clear waters.
